CyHi The Prynce Calls Royal Flush 2 An 'Emotion Picture'

'It's a tearjerker, it's a drama, it's an action,' he tells Mixtape Daily.

Real Spit: It's been quite a ride for CyHi the Prynce. After already receiving a co-sign from Akon and signing to his Konvict Music label, the Atlanta MC then linked with Kanye West and inked with G.O.O.D. Music in 2010. He's already appeared on a number of tracks with the Louis Vuitton Don, most notably "So Appalled" from 'Ye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Still, CyHi is not resting on his laurels. Instead, while beginning work on his debut, The Hardway Musical, he has released his fifth mixtape Royal Flush 2.

"Royal Flush 2 will be an emotion picture — not a motion picture, an emotion picture," CyHi told Mixtape Daily.

Instead of features, the rapper refers to the tape's guest artists as actors. Regardless of how they are labeled, Trey Songz, Big Sean, Yelawolf, Pusha T and Tity Boi all contribute. The first Royal Flush, which was released in October 2010, helped established Prynce as one of the game's top prospects, but the two volumes are like night and day.

"It's summertime music. The first one, it was more wintertime," he said of the comparison. "This one is more drop the top, feel good, bass in the trunk at some times. It's got a lot of hip-hop on there. It's a tearjerker, it's a drama, it's an action."

The Trey Songz-assisted "New Girl" is a breezy affair. On it, CyHi serenades a new love over a sunny, piano-laden track. "Woopty Doo" featuring Big Sean is produced by No I.D. and Kanye West and goes in a slightly different direction. The track's jazzy horn loop finds a more sentimental CyHi lamenting on how the time he spends on the road keeps him away from his nephews and nieces. "Emotional" shows yet another side, as Cy steals women from their boyfriends, taunting on the song's hook, "You n---as so emotional, can't keep your feeling sin control."

With 20 tracks, Royal Flush 2 offers something for everyone and allows CyHi to show off his verbal versatility. "CyHi the Prynce just bringing it to you in so many different ways," he said in third person. "That's why I call it an emotion picture, because it breaks the emotions of me."
